Baby quilt part 1

Oh the delight of finding oneself in the sewing room! On this particular February day I am enjoying the activity of sewing together a baby quilt. The sun is shining outside, and I have a window cracked open to let some fresh air into the room. I hear the little chirping of some of the winter song birds, it is absolutely joyous to hear these little creatures! To be able to feel the crisp air softly blowing through the lace curtain in my Grandma’s sewing room window, smell that fresh air and piece together fabric in anticipation of a brand new life coming into the world, simply fun.

I am putting together a rather simple, but adorable quilt pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew https://cluckclucksewshop.com/products/playful-2-169-pdf-pattern. Made up of a bunch of pinwheels pieced from half-square triangles and then combining those with some plain squares and rectangles it is a fun energetic project. I enjoy using this pattern for quick projects that I want to feature cute fabric in. The pieces, apart from the pinwheels, are cut rather large and so make good use of the fabric design. BTW… I am not being paid to advertise, I just love this pattern 🙂

All ready to assemble

I am currently in-process of laying the quilt out to be sewn and will post a follow-up with the finished product. I am planning on using my mom’s long-arm quilting machine to quilt it.

I hope that you were/are able to find a way to do something that brings you joy today!
