Good morning! I hope this finds you doing well and enjoying your summer. It is a delicious August morning with some beautiful clouds, intermittent sunshine and the sounds of nature waking up. Today is my official, second day of orientation for college. I am heading back to school!! I made the decision earlier this year after spending almost a year considering it. The deicision did not seem very easy but after hemming and hawing I thought I would just go and apply for it and see how God leads. I got accepted into the program and am not starting!

What am I going back to school for you may ask? Midwifery! I had the privilege to assist in delivering a beautiful baby a year ago and that inspired me to revisit learning how to be a midwife and do birth work. I researched and found a wonderful college, Mercy In Action College of Midwifery. They are based out of Idaho and have a fabulous model of teaching and practicing midwifery.

I have been doing some studying ahead over the past several months in preparation for the large work load this first semester and I must say that cracking open these textbooks has been delightful and exciting!

So, here’s to all of y’all going to back to school with me and at the same time! It’s gonna be a great year!
