Oh happy days! I am back in the business of making sourdough bread! I have been making sourdough baked goods for many years now but, while I was in school my time was mainly consumed with studying and the bare minimum of necessary household chores. I had to, sadly, place my sourdough pursuits on hold. I tell you, that was not pleasant, sourdough baking is a culinary passion! This week however, after having reconstituted some dried, frozen starter, I was able to make a lovely, solid-crusted loaf of bread. The loaf was far from perfect with the crust being too crusty, but it was tasty. I decided to name my little starter “Sally the Starter”. Sally is an old family name and it seemed to suit as a name for a sourdough starter… an old-fashioned name for an old-fashioned cooking tradition? Why not! Now the challenge is on… how long can I keep Sally going? Hope you all have a fabulous and blessed week!
